I used Dexter to identify and extract information about a cohort of adults with TB. The menu options make it easy to select the database, identify cases and determine the time frame of interest. I extracted approximately 50 variables for my cohort without any difficulty. There is flexibility around study types and selection of controls. The output is arranged in a way which makes data cleaning and management relatively easy. Automated analytics also offer a starting point for understand the characteristics of the population being studied. I would recommend use of Dexter for studies intending to use electronic health record data."
